Normal Gait and Pathological Galt

Abstract
|
|
|
Weakness or paralysis of any of the muscle produciug normal gait leads to a derangement of the pattern of gait. Pathological gait is characterized by excessive or asymmetrical movement of the body parts and of the center of gravity. Even minimal involvements will become obvious to the trained observer.
It is the purpose of this presentation to describe in detail the normal gait analysis including the kinesiology and mechanics of walking and in detail the pathological gait produced by weakness or paralysis of the major muscle group of the pelvic girdle and lower extremities, and the supportive measures are also discussed.
